Brief introduction of Chrome corundum
Chrome corundum is a kind of α- Al2O3-Cr2O3 solid solution is formed by melting industrial aluminum oxide powder, chromium oxide powder and a small amount of spinel (or no spinel) in an electric arc furnace at 2200 ℃. Chrome corundum is also called artificial red corundum (ruby) because of its purple or pink appearance. The physical properties of chrome corundum are similar to that of white corundum. Adding chromium oxide can improve the toughness of the crystal, and it has a better finish when used for sand blasting and polishing.

Application of Chrome corundum
Chromium corundum abrasive is one of the best abrasives. It is suitable for polishing some hard alloy, metal and non-metallic materials. It has the advantages of less impurities, no stains, and high finish.
Chromium corundum can also be used to manufacture some abrasive products, such as chromium corundum grinding wheel, chromium corundum grinding head, and to polish and grind some high-strength materials such as alloy steel, carbon steel, high-speed steel, etc. Its grinding efficiency and finish are better than white corundum.
Chrome corundum bricks. Due to the high viscosity and good permeability of glass phase containing chromium oxide, chromium corundum can prevent the corrosion and penetration of slag to a large extent. Chromium corundum bricks are also widely used for high temperature resistance and anti-corrosion protection of glass kiln lining plates, glass kiln cover plates, garbage incinerator bottom plates, refractory castables, etc.
