Product description of Bauxite
Bauxite can be divided into three categories: bauxite raw materials, light burned bauxite and bauxite clinker. According to its particle size, it can be divided into aggregate and powder. Its main component is aluminum oxide, which is hydrated aluminum oxide containing impurities and is an earthy mineral.
It is white or off white, brown yellow or light red due to its iron content. The density of bauxite is about 3.9-4g/cm3, and its hardness is about 1-3, opaque and brittle. It is extremely difficult to melt, insoluble in water, but soluble in sulfuric acid and sodium hydroxide solutions.
Cooked bauxite is smelted from raw bauxite by high temperature heating in rotary kiln, shaft kiln or inverted flame kiln.

Applications of Bauxite
- Aluminum smelting industry.
- Investment casting. The bauxite clinker is processed into fine powder and then cast.
- For refractory products. The refractory of bauxite clinker is up to 1780 ℃, with strong chemical stability and good physical properties.
- Aluminum silicate refractory fiber. The utility model has the advantages of light weight, high temperature resistance, good thermal stability, low thermal conductivity, small thermal capacity, mechanical vibration resistance, etc.
- Using magnesite and bauxite clinker as raw materials and adding proper binder, it can be used for casting steel barrel lining.
- Manufacture of bauxite cement, abrasive materials, ceramic industry and chemical industry can be made into aluminum compounds.
