Refractory materials for metallurgical kiln are key auxiliary materials to support efficient operation of iron and steel production, mainly reflected in the following points:

(1) Safety of production. As a material in contact with molten steel, abnormal damage or excessive erosion of functional refractory materials may cause molten steel leakage, or even cause serious safety accidents. For example, steel leakage caused by excessive erosion of breathable elements, external splashing of molten steel caused by abnormal fracture during the use of immersion water outlet, flow control failure caused by excessive erosion of plug rod, steel leakage caused by functional failure of side sealing plate, etc.

The magnesia-carbon immersion nozzle avoids alumina inclusion in the molten steel and is beneficial to improving the quality of cord steel.

The flow path of liquid steel can be optimized by setting turbulence controller with reasonable structure, optimizing combination of weir and dam, and using air curtain retaining wall to reduce dead zone, which can promote inclusions floating up and improve billet quality.

Optimize the shape of the plug rod head, improve the sensitivity of the flow control of molten steel, reduce the fluctuation of the liquid level in the mold, and reduce the possibility of slag rolling; Argon gas channel can also reduce alumina adhesion and improve the quality of billet.
